What are PhotoSpheres?

A PhotoSphere image is captured using a specialized 360Ëš Camera and then viewed using a Virtual Reality Headset.

PhotoSpheres are a means of using Virtual Reality to transport a viewer to a distant locale and allow them to observe the conditions and surroundings as they were at a specific time.  It is a method of preservation and presentation that gives a viewer the ability to experience the setting completely and freely.

With a PhotoSphere, the viewer is figuratively placed at the center of a sphere and an all-encompassing image is then projected onto the interior wall.  They then simply turn their gaze in any direction.  The viewer can look above, below or even directly behind them.
